Why Experience Matters When Planning a Cosmetic Treatment

Woman smiling in mirrorModern cosmetic dentistry has genuinely changed not just smiles, but lives. Clear aligners, veneers, whitening, implants – the options available today are remarkable. But here’s something patients don’t always hear: the outcome of any cosmetic treatment is shaped far more by the clinician’s skill and experience than by the brand or product alone.

A highly experienced provider knows when to recommend a particular aligner system, when to combine treatments, and when to say “let’s take a different approach.” That kind of judgement only comes with time.

Cosmetic dentistry is so much more rewarding when patients feel genuinely informed and understand the process completely. I want people to know all their options and feel confident before we take a single step forward.”
Dr Tessa La Mela, Shenton Park Dentist

What Experience Actually Looks Like

Dr Tessa has been a certified clear aligner provider since 2009 (that’s well over a decade of cases, from simple to complex). She’s trained across multiple systems, including Invisalign, Spark, Angel Align, Archform, and ClearCorrect. That breadth matters because no single system suits every patient.

Dr David has experience with both the Angel Align and Invisalign systems, and can work with the patient to work out what system can suit their needs. For more simple treatment plans, he can also offer ArchForm aligners.

Dr Esther provide and specific and narrow scope for clear aligner treatments, focusing on ArchForm cases for patients with mild relapse, small amounts of anterior crowding, or even single tooth movements.

Why the Range of Options Matters

Offering multiple clear aligner systems isn’t just a nice-to-have. It means your provider can match the right solution to your specific needs, budget, and lifestyle. At Shenton Park Family Dental, patients have access to:

  • Spark Clear Aligners — advanced aligner technology that straightens teeth discreetly and comfortably, using state-of-the-art material designed for clarity and fit
  • Invisalign — the most widely used system globally, with a proven track record across simple to complex cases
  • Angel Align — a flexible, comfortable option at an accessible price point
  • Arch Form — custom designed trays with a pay-per aligner option, excellent as an economical option for very minor movements or relapse or pre-cosmetic treatment
  • ClearCorrect — ultra-thin trays, ideal for straightforward cases

More Than One Way to Refresh Your Smile

Cosmetic dentistry extends beyond aligners. The team also provides teeth whitening, veneers, crowns and bridges, dentures, and implant-based tooth replacement options. Having access to a range of services allows treatment plans to be tailored to individual goals, oral health needs, and lifestyle considerations.
